Description
Sliver at one point in time was at a healthy weight, well built and strong from fighting to keep her rank and right. However, ever sense the lose of her pack and her wondering through wastelands, and forests, and trying to hunt without the aid of her pack her frame has thinned out. Sliver’s bulk became nothing but lean muscle. Nevertheless don’t mistake her thinnest as weakness she’s still as fierce as ever. Sliver has bright yellow eyes. Her pelt is different shades of brown, with some striping of black through of her body, and over her muzzle. Her right paw is scared from an old injury with fire. Some of the fur has started to grow back on her paw and almost all of her right leg but where there is not fur, the flesh is red. The old injury no longer gives her pain, however the memory of when she got it still bothers her.
Personality
Calm and collected… well most of the time she hold these traits. But more often then not she’s fierce and quick to act. Though now a-days she’s more quiet and reserved. She’s a loyal friend and pack mate. Fear-Fair, Thunderstorms.
History
(I’m a little better at writing histories when they are first-person. I didn’t see anything in the rules that said I couldn’t post that way for my history, only for posts for RPG…I hope you enjoy my different way of writing.)
Hot…so dry. I’ve never felt the sun so hot before on my pelt. It wasn’t always like this. It wasn’t always this hot before. And my leg didn’t always hurt so fiercely so that I’m forced to limp over these fire hot rocks, and sand. Normally it didn’t hurt like this…it was healed…but this heat seems to bring the worst out of it.
It wasn’t always like this… it wasn’t always so hot, there wasn’t always pain. Before it was good. Before I had my pack, and all my loved ones around.
Before this wasteland, before the night of pain, I lived in a forest to the east of here. The memory of it helps me to sleep at night and to get through my hardships that have come from that night.
The forest was green and alive. Filled with many creatures but more importantly my pack. I was the Alphess then and along with my mate Runningstar. At the time we had a strong pack, that had just grown in numbers. My beta at the time had just given birth to three healthy puppies. However with happiness comes some sadness. She had given birth to four however the fourth the runt didn’t make it through the night. Nevertheless it was still a day of great rejoicing! The hunt that night we, meaning myself, my mate, and 5 others, fell a large fat deer. Easily enough we brought it back to the den, and ate our fill. Just thinking about that deer now makes my belly growl. The night came and went without problem. It wasn’t until the next night.
All day clouds had been gathering over head. The air smelt damp with the coming rain. The sky got so dark that at the hottest point of the day when the sun was at it’s highest point it was like night. I called the pack home, back to the den, to take shelter from the storm that was soon to come. The rain came first soft and light, bring to life the scents of the forest, the dampness of the soil, and the smell of wet leaves that still lay upon the ground. If I focus very hard I can call forth that scent again from my memory, but it’s very faint.
But soon the rain started to fall harder. Then the lighting ripped through the heavens, and the thunder shattered the silence of the forest. My pack huddled in the den, to keep out the sounds of the weather one of the omegas, my younger brother maple leaf started to tell funny stories to help brighten everyone’s mood . The betress, Shian wasn’t with us. As custom for all pregnant females she left the pack to dig her own den to give birth to her pups in private. Because of this I couldn’t just sit and listen to stories I paced back and forth with my Beta who was also having the same hard time I was. I could only image what he was feeling. After some time the rain stopped, however the thunder and lighting bellowed on. It was at this point I decided to check on Shian and the pups. I turned and started out of the den with suddenly the tree in front of me exploded, as a beam from the heavens struck it, and boom of it was ear shattering! The tree had only been 6 ft from the den. The explosion knocked me backwards. It dazed me when I came back to this world my ears rang, and my sight was blurred. The scent of…smoke filled my lungs. When my hearing came back to me and my sight cleared I saw my pack in a panic. I righted myself, and saw the reason for the panic. The exit to the den was blocked by roaring flame. I froze. I couldn’t think. Fear took me for that moment. But it wasn’t till I felt the sharp nip of my mate did I snap out of it. “To the rear, to the rear exit!” I ordered as I came back to myself. Spinning about I waited till they were all out before I followed. The smoke filled the den making it hard to see burning my eyes, but the smell of fresh air led me forth.
The sight that awaited us out in the free air wasn’t pretty. The heat of the flame had spread, and quickly at that! We were almost blocked in. “This way!” I remember calling as I led them forward. At some point I told Runningstar to take them to the lake at the center of the forest.
Then I was on my own…I had to get to Shian, and the pups. I remember that well. I remember the panic and the fear of what may have ready happened. It filled me and I felt as if I would be choked by it. But I managed to force it back, I don’t know how, but it did. I ran as fast as my legs would carry me. Circling flaming bushes as the fire spread. By this time it was nightfall. I reached the den and found Shian still inside. Along with the pups.
They were still only a day old, and not ready to leave the safety of the den, however if they stayed smoke would fill their lunges and choke them, if the fire didn’t kill them first. Shian took two pups in her gentle jaws and I one. I took the led weaving back through, toward the center of the forest to the lake. By this time flames were licking at every tree, everything seemed to be on fire! It was then that I saw I had led us into a dead end. The path that had been clear before was now engulfed in flame! When I turned back to Shian to tell her we were going back, the sound of snapping wood came to my ears before I could say anything a flaming branch fell down upon Shian! It pinned her! The pups she held fell from her mouth. I set the pup I held down and ordered it not to move…
I ran to Shian, pushing the pups away from the fire and tried to push the burning branch off her. I still remember her howls of pain. Her begging me to save the pups. To leave her. My only thought was on saving my pack mate.
I was finally forced to leave. The smoke had taken every breath from her lunges. My concern now were the puppies… I couldn’t hold all three. I need help. I throw my head back and howled no answer. I tried my best to shield the pups by curling my body around them as the flames came closer and closer. I howled again… this time it was returned. Runningstar was coming, along with the beta Wind.
Flaming branches fell around my. The pups cried out, and whimpered.
After what seemed like forever they found us. But the flame had circled around us. They leapt through the flames to us.
The mournful howl of Wind when he saw his beloved dead still haunts me today. It took everything I had left in me to keep him from running to her burning corpse. I had to remind him firmly of his pups that he still had something left.
Once everyone had a pup safely in their mouth we looked toward the flames I nodded to Runningstar to give him the go ahead to lead the way he leapt easily over the flaming wall. Wind was next and I followed.
I don’t know how long we ran. But every way we turned there was a flaming wall.
Runningstar paused to get his bearings as I came running up to the rear, he didn’t see it…I don’t know how he didn’t hear it! But the last I ever saw of my dear mate and Wind was a oak tree falling upon them! I think I howled… or something I’m not sure but I dropped the pup I held. And raced forward. I dug at the flaming tree digging through the branches. My only thought of was of my mate… my beloved. I howled for him and wind and got no answer. Shearing pain tore me out of my insane search, as I was brought back to reality by my right leg fire burnt away my fur and licked at bare flesh. I leapt away from the flames and couldn’t support myself with the paw… but my mind returned, I remembered the pup…for the moment I had to forget my loved one I had to save this one new member of our family. I limped painfully back to the pup. When I came upon her…she wasn’t breathing…the smoke had been to much for her and it strangled the life out of her.
I had nothing then… nothing at all. They had died for nothing… I thought I would die as well. I threw my head back and howled long and mournful.
It was at that moment someone smiled down at me… for the sky opened up, and rain poured down! The fire hissed around me in protest. The rain quickly soaked through my fur as I stared up into the sky unblinking. Unsure how to feel…I mean at that moment would relieve be right? Three pups dead… two betas, and my mate gone…yet the rain had saved me. What was I to feel. The flames around me hissed and started die down. My legs could no longer support me I fell…and my eyes closed.
I opened my eyes, my head throbbed, my leg throbbed more. I think that’s what woke me. My right leg was blistered, red, and raw. At first I didn’t know what happened to me… then it came flooding back. And I wept.
After I don’t know how long, I gathered my senses about me and started to limp toward the lake.
Who ever smiled down upon me before wasn’t smiling anymore. The area surround the lake was burnt…it had forced my pack into the lake. Who knew how long they had been forced to swim in circles… but it had been soon long their muscles gave up on them… before me their corpse flowed. None had life left in them…I checked. I was alone very alone.
I wept again.
When I woke I started walk…I wasn’t sure where but I just walked, well limped…and limped. I wasn’t sure where I was going, I just wanted to get away from there.
That was when my new adventure started… the one to survive.
I don’t know how I survived. I could hardly walk let along hunt. But I managed. For the first few weeks I ate from remains of carcasses from other pack hunts. My leg healed slowly. Which was a good thing. Soon I was able to run, and I had to do that often running from packs that didn’t wont a wonder.
I wonder from forest, to grasslands, and now here I am…in this desert wasteland. My mouth dryer then the stones I walk over. Where will I end up now?
(I hope you enjoy my tragic tale.)

Cautiously Sliver crept forward on her belly toward the carcass of a freshly killed deer. She had seen a pack of wolves take it down not to long before from her perch on a grassy hill. She had remained hide in the high brown grass as she had watched them eat their fill. Her belly growling angrily as she watch. Wishing for a taste of the fresh meat.
Which was why she was here now crawling on her belly toward the kill. Hungry was driving her forth. From her perch she had seen the pack eat, then take some parts of the deer to what ever place they called home. Most likely to feed their pups or elders. It seemed like the prefect chance for her to make her move. Sliver was almost to the fallen deer… the scent of the blood made her mouth water. All her senses were honed in on the deer… that she almost didn’t hear a twig snap to her left…oh no.
