If you have time to read this all it is a good intro; I couldn't choose one part without leaving something out so I just put it all.
If you have time to read this all it is a good intro; I couldn't choose one part without leaving something out so I just put it all.
The Beginning....Or the End?
The year was 5048, the Earth was slowly disintegrating. Humans had ravaged its surface and destroyed all but its inner core. The land was no longer fertile, and the sun was often blotted out for days from the amount of smoke and ash, the humans factories were producing.
The human race had become an appalling mix of greed, filth and a darkness that had never been experienced by man kind before. Earth had been thrown, literally back to the Dark Ages. Rape and public killings were becoming more common by the hour; there was not a single innocent left. Every single soul was blackened by something they had witnessed, or some terrible act that they themselves had committed.
Mother Nature was becoming increasingly violent, climate changes created by man kinds waste, had caused major storms and tsunami’s which destroyed whole cities and killed millions of people. The population of Earth was on a rapid decline, and in just 5 years Earth had 12 million less people.
One day, a storm hit the eastern shore of Australia, ripping through the city of Sydney and tearing right through one of the largest oil rigs in the Southern Hemisphere, spilling oil thousands of kilometers across the ocean.
The storm continued to wreak havoc across the tiny continent, ripping apart town’s forests, slowly it made its way inland eventually reaching a nuclear power plant that was situated just south-west of Brisbane.
For days, people waited with bated breath, hoping that the storm would stop, or swerve and miss the plant, for all were aware of the consequences if the storm were to hit.
After 3 days the storm was still approaching with full force, the towns that were closest were evacuated, and the whole world waited. 12 hours later, it hit.
It was viewed by millions on TV screens across the world. It took Australia instantly, other countries it took up to 8 hours to reach, but nevertheless no one escaped. In just a mere 12 hours the human race as we knew it was no more.
After 3 days, no survivors had surfaced. A few small animals had managed to survive and slowly, noise and life began to once again fill the Earth.
On the fifth day, the heavens opened and a celestial being glided down, carrying with him a pearl scepter. Followed by him, was his half brother Lucifer, who came from the belly of the Earth, carrying with him a ruby Trident.
After these two, a strange sort of being followed. It was a woman, with long flowing red hair, she carried with her an emerald goblet. This woman was unlike the two other gods, she was neutral.
Gabriel, who carried the pearl scepter, was a celestial. His entire being was pure, and he could do no wrong. He was what the human race commonly called ‘God’.
Lucifer, who carried the ruby trident, was a demon. His soul was hard and blackened, and it was he that had bought the human race to its chaotic demise. He was more commonly know as ‘The Devil’
Sarah, who carried the emerald goblet, was a neutral. She was neither good, nor bad. She controlled the Earth itself and did as she pleased. It was she who had sent the storm that had bought the world to its final hour. Her appearance was constantly changing, one day she would appear young with beautiful opaque blue eyes, and milky white skin. Another day she may appear old, with a ravaged face and coarse black eyes. She was so fondly know to the humans as ‘Mother Nature’.
As was expected, the gods did not exactly get along; each thought that they deserved the chance to rule the new race that would inhabit the world once again.
After 3 days of arguments, they gods came to a wall that would not budge. None of them wished to let the other rule.
A month passed, and still no decision had been made, the days began to get longer and the moon and the sun became muddled, rising and setting at incorrect times. It began to snow even though it was not winter. The four winds, who were the controllers of the seasons, grew angry. They all agreed that something must be done. They gave the Gods an ultimatum, either they come to a decision, or the four winds would no longer work for them. Without the seasons, the world would no longer be able to survive, nothing would grow and eventually the Gods would have nothing to rule over.
Hurriedly, the Gods decided that they would split the Earth and rule as equals. Gabriel would take the North, Lucifer the South and Sarah the West. Now the question remained what would happen to the East, they could not just let it belong to no one, and if the gods were to be equals then they could not allow just one of them to rule the East. Finally they decided that a fourth god must be created.
Using traits from all 3 of them, Gabriel’s kindness, Lucifer’s cunning and Sarah’s level headedness, they created a human being that would rule the East. This human was a female, as Sarah argued there should be equal numbers in gender. Satisfied with their work, the gods prepared to depart to their own kingdoms. When the new god, Kahlia, bought upon a new issue; how could the Gods meet? A neutral meeting ground had to be arranged. So it was done, in the very centre of the Earth, where all four points of the God’s lands met a stone table was erected. It was at this table that the God’s decided they would meet.
Finally after 2 years the god’s went their separate ways, each ruling over an equal area of land.
The Lands
Gabriel, in the North, ruled over his people with a gentle hand and a kind eye. His land prospered, vegetation and fruit trees, spot the land and cool, clean springs run from the mountains down to the lower lands, providing animals and humans fresh drinking water. The weather in his land is run by the four winds. A hot summer, cold winter, cool autumn and warm spring. He has no plans for war, and is quite content in his small but beautiful haven in the North. He named his land Kaeleer.
Lucifer, in the South, raised his land and his people ruthlessly, he created a race of blood thirsty killers. His land is dark and the stench of evil stains the air, not much vegetation, apart from small coarse bushes, grows in the South. The weather is constantly changing; it may be hot and dry one day, then freezing cold the next. For years, he has been selecting a few of the most bloodthirsty demons from the pack and forming a small but unstoppable army. He has branded his land Ebon Rih.
Sarah, in the West, created a differing landscape. The people of her land each have their own personality; her world is much like the old world. The people in it are intelligent, and curious, they discover new things everyday. The weather in Sarah’s land changes often, depending on her mood. Snow and hail are common, many of her people die from the freezing temperatures they are forced to endure. But it is not always that way, the land also has its times of sun and prosperity, where the people are rewarded with large crops and heavy spring rains which bring on flowers and fruit tree’s. She bestowed upon her land the name of Aski Va.
Kahlia, in the East, created a world of sprawling civilizations that covered her land. Although her intentions were good, she was ignorant and was blind to the fact that he world was slowly falling apart. Starvation and disease were the most common causes of death, aside from death penalties such as burnings and hangings.
Kahlia was lazy, and proffered drinking and hosting parties, to looking after her lands. She appointed a monarchy to do her duties so she would not have to. The King and Queen, were half-witted snobs, who thought no one was as good as they. They enforced harsh laws, and for those who broke them there were deadly consequences.
Kahlia named her land Hayll, but it was later renamed Ajuik.
The Rift
After 3 years of peace, Lucifer felt the time was right to strike. Kahlia's land, Ajuik, was at its weakest point. He sent his forces across the border and attacked her land ruthlessly. Kahlia, fearing the gods would see her unfit to rule and strip her of her godly powers, made a deal with Lucifer. If he would keep his forces off her land, she would provide him with whatever he pleased, crops, women, money, jewels, anything to keep him from destroying her country.
Lucifer considered her deal, and finally agreed if she would send him a quarter of the money she recieved from taxes, plus one woman per month, he would leave Ajuik alone.
But this deal, was not to last. News of the betrayal soon drifted across the 4 countries, and soon Gabriel and Sarah came to know of Kahlia's bargain. Outraged, they punished Kahlia, stripping her of her right to rule, and forcing her to become a normal human.
The Four Winds were appalled by Lucifer's lies and deciet, although this was to expected of him, they set nature against him. Storm ravaged his country, fierce winds tore apart his palace, and freezing conditions bought on disease and death everywhere. Lucifer ignored the Four Winds attempts to destroy him, laughing at their 'feeble' attempts to bring down his land, and it was not until his eldest son, Malvado, died that he took action.
The Creatures
He began to expand his army, creating gruesome creatures that could kill a man with a single crush of their fists.
First born were the ogres, huge, angry beasts whose faces are as ravaged as their hearts. The ogres, are not generally cruel creatures, but they are half-witted and very subjectable to pain. Lucifer taught them to be cruel and ruthless in battle and soon they grew in numbers and strength.
Second born were the were-wolves, fast and cunning, the wolves were an asset to Lucifers army. They gave him the advantage of surpise, for wolves have the ability to make themselves invisible. These wolves were created clever and vicisous by nature, and they soon became Lucifer's favourites.
After the wolves came the banshee's and the warlocks, although these two were a great advantage for Lucifer, he soon became annoyed with them. For unlike the ogres and the wolves they have a mind of their own, and refused to fight if there was nothing in it for them.
Gabriel and Sarah, watched Lucifers growing army with unease. In secret they began to meet at the Stone Table, discussing what must be done. Both decided they too must creature their own armies, filled with both mortal and magical creatures. They both set to work.
Gabriel, created the faries. These faries were small creatures that lived in the woods, they possesed healing, and coercing* abilites.
Following the faries, came the merpeople. Although on land they would not do much good, they have the uncanny ability to control water anyway, meaning they can command the sea's to rise up over their banks and swallow their enemies.
After the mers came the dragons. These creatures were smart, fast on land and in the air, and most importantly they were ruthless in battle. No arrow can pierce their skin and they can crush enemies by their sheer size.
Sarah, created the sprites. These creatures dwell anywhere and everywhere, in the woods, in the lakes, beneath rocks and in grasslands. They are tiny, fast, agile and have a slight cruel streak in them.
Next came the Muerte's, these creatures are seldom seen or heard of. They are quiet and often at times timid, but when backed into a corner they are quick and efficent. They have the power of commading nature, and can communicate with the tree's and with the animals.
And lastly came the Death Knights, cold and calculated. These faceless Knights, are a frightening site on the battle field. They ride upon horses with fiery red eyes, they were armour that covers most of their bodies, and chain mail across their necks. Around their heads they were black capes that billow in the wind. No one has ever seen a Death Knights face, and the reason is they have none. Beneath their capes, lies no skull, no facial features. A black abyss lies beneath, it is said any or try to see into a Death Knights cape is turned to dust.
The Power Struggle
While Lucifer continued preparing his army for an outright war with Gabriel and Sarah, another being, was also preparing his own war. Lucifers brother, Vercival, had long wanted to rule the kingdom of Ebon Rih and although he was no where near as cunning as Lucifer, his heart was just as black. He had no clue what he was to do with Ebon Rih once he had won it, but all he could think of was that his brother had something and he wanted it as well.
He begged his brother to let him rule Ebon Rih beside him, offered him money, offered to do everything. But each time his brother refused him, saying he was too stupid to rule.
Vercival outraged, flew at his brother with a dagger. Before Lucifer could react Vercival had sliced through his index and middle finger on his left hand and cut them off with one blow.
Terrified, Vercival fled Ebon Rih, fearing his brothers rath. He fled to Aski Va, pleading for Sarah's protection against his vengeful brother. Sarah refused knowing if she was to do this, war would break out between the two countries. She did however, grant him one wish. She allowed him freedom among her country. As long as Vercival never settled in any town for more than 2 cycles of the moon, he could remain in Aski Va. So that was how it remained, Vercival continued to roam around Aski Va, never settling, never making friends. Evetually he became more and more isolated. Instead of moving from town to town, he would keep off the main roads, sticking to the forests and scrub. Although he became somewhat strange, Sarah's kindness stayed in his heart forever. He could not forget her face, and soon developed a deep, passionate love for her, despite the darkness that covered his heart. Although he never broke the agreement he and Sarah had made, he constantly thought and dreamt about her, eventually developing an obsession with her, which remains with him till this day. He continues to migrat around Aski Va, developing plans to take over Ebon Rih from his brother one day.
The Tension
Although, no attack has yet to be made. Sarah and Gabriel are constantly on their guard. Tension is building between the 3 countries and the East, which is still left unclaimed, is slowly becoming more and more wild, death, rape and abduction is common in most parts of the East.
What may happen to this new world, is yet to be seen....
