And before you ask; I don't type these rules up just for fun. Read.
General
1. Swearing will not be tolerated on the ooc boards
2. No name calling. It's just immature; it doesn't make you any more of a person. In fact it makes you less of a person.
3. Please keep Avatars and signature pictures to a reasonable size or it will be removed.
4. No spam on any of the boards [Stupid, Pointless, Annoying, Messages].
5. Respect others wishes. If a player wants something to happen, and it's obvious, please play along [it's a game after all]. And, don't do something irrational, that a real wolf wouldn't do.
5. No godmoding, or powerplay.
6. No back seat role playing; saying another character that isn't yours is doing something that they said they didn't do.
Role Playing
1. Role Play in third person and use past tense.
- eg. Glow walked over to the pond and drank
- as opposed to: I walk over to the pond to drink
- Or: Glow walks over to the pond and drinks
2. Use proper grammar while role playing; absolutely no chat speak.
3. At least three lines, no exception [this rule may change in time if members are seen just barely making the limit more often]
4. Make sure to separate ooc from ic.
5. Characters can be role played in two different places at the same time.
6. If you want to get opinion on how well you role play [or tips on how to make it better] you can post an example, even a link, of your role playing on the general board. It must follow basic role playing rules [above].
7. Though I don't agree with Private threads they will happen and it's allowed. If you do create a private thread please put a little note in ooc naming who is and/or is not permitted to join.
- If there is no warning then don't get upset if/when someone joins
8. If you do not wish to continue role playing in a thread, please post an ic post stating you've left, don't just stop posting. Besides being incredibly annoying for the other people role playing it's also confusing.
9. You aren't going to get something every time your character hunts. So please make some unsuccessful hunts scattered through your posts [or a warning will be issued for god moding]
Battles
1. You can't dodge everything. That is extremely annoying, unfair and unrealistic [it's also against the rules, as you've noticed].
2. If your opponent hurts you, you are hurt. That means outside of the battle as well.
3. If you plan a battle it takes place in the battle grounds.
4. You are allowed to kill your own character as long as another one of your character kills him/her [no suicide. You never hear of suicidal animals?- they're main instinct is to stay alive]
5. Again, I must stress: no godmoding or powerplay.
- Godmoding is making the other person do something, which normally applies to the entire sight (nod head, walk away, fall to the ground, etc). Kinda like back-seat RPing.
- Powerplay, is when you make something very critical happen during a fight. (A cut across the throat, a deep gash, etc), minor cuts are fine, but, the other person should have a chance to get out of the way.
5. You need the permission of your opponent and an admin/gmod, to kill another character. You just can't kill anyone you like.
6. Alert a staff member to battles [even if your character is fighting the character of the staff, alert another staff member] so they can judge the outcome.
- They will be judged to the quality, realism and creativity of each post.
- Any breaking of rules [godmoding, powerplaying] seen during the fight will result in a warning to the member and, depending on the extent, loosing the battle.
Characters
1. Fur colours like blue and green are not accepted [Strange-ish markings are fine, in realistic colours. Not too bold, like a wolf with zebra stripes]
2. Accessories are not accepted [Bands, feathers, chains, etc.]
3. Characters are to follow the guideline given, and the number of lines that I've chosen as well.
4. This is a realistic rpg, so no:
Powers, wings, funny magic jewellery, magic of any kind, ect. Remember to keep it real.
5. When your character is accepted into a pack, ooc post on the packs board, in the sub board with the name of the pack your character is in [It would also help if you posted the name of your character] notifying everyone.
6. You can not breed two of your characters together.
7. You can't have two of your characters as alpha and alphess in the same pack, you can in different packs though.
8. If your character is in a pack it cannot claim a land.
9. Absolutely no character it perfect. Do not make a perfect cat/wolf, that is beautiful, a great fighter, never looses a hunt, and is not flawed. No animal is really like this, all animals have a weakness [and don't make it a very rare weakness, that is impossible to expose].
10. Also, no Gothic characters, with names like: Dark Gem or Wicked Wolf. Real animals might be a killer, but not Goth. It's a human thing, and I don’t want to be swarmed with them.
11. Again, please use the character form provided.
- You're character will not be accepted if any of the above rules have been violated.
Breeding
- You can breed in any season, but use your common sense; if you were to breed in winter the pups or the mother could die.
- Try to stick around the mating habits of your character’s species [info about them can be found on the info board]
- Ligers and Tigon's are allowed; Ligons are the offspring of a male lion and a female tiger, and Tigons are a male tiger and female lion [although much rarer].
- You and your mate don't have to be in the same pack
- Lionesses may not breed while they still have cubs [once the cubs have matured/ if they all die, etc. you can knock yourself out, within reason] as that is habitual of the breed.
1. No homosexual animals, please. It doesn't happen naturally, it's more of a human thing.
2. Descriptive breeding is fine, but please give a warning in the title [like m+ or whatever you think is appropriate]
3. No graphic pictures.
4. Forced breeding is okay.
5. Don't post anything that obviously states you're looking for a mate, eg. 'I really need a mate', 'I'm looking for a male wolf', 'I need a mate' [Correct me if I'm wrong, but it can't get anymore obvious than that], etc.
6. You can't have offspring straight after mating
- Must be pregnant for around 3 days at least, one week at most, any longer and your character will miscarriage
- Offspring are to stay around mother for one week
- Until the week is up, offspring must be dependent on their mother
- After the week is up you may put them up for adoption, but make sure to put the off-spring on the mothers and fathers signature
- You don't have to continue to role play with all the off-spring, you can choose one or two and the others can leave the land or die [or put them on the adoptions board.]
- You are not allowed to find pups/cubs or create a character that is pregnant
- Mother role plays pups, unless negotiated otherwise.
7. After your character gives birth PM an admin [silver/ light purple] to get your litters stats
- Use the form provided on the off-spring board in the PM
- Your litter's stats will be posted on the off-spring board, including the size of your litter, if there were any still borns, genders, and so on. This will also be affected by the age of your wolf and so on.
- You may request things [although it is not up to you and you're less likely to receive what you requested if you beg]
- Personality, description and names may be later done by you
Accounts are limited to five characters unless you know you can handle it. This means you know you're going to role play them and not forget they exist; as well as how much you can fit into your signature. If you can't handle more than five characters make another account for them.
Inactive Members
- Inactive members will be deleted, unless they tell me they're going away for a while.
- If you sign up and don't post anything, you will be deleted after about five days unless I'm feeling lazy, which tends to happen a lot.
- If one of your characters is an alpha and you become inactive for a really long time [without warning] the alpha position will be switched with the beta [female or male, whichever your character/s were] if they are active, if not the beta's will be placed as an omega and the alpha positions will be open. After that, if still inactive, their character/s will then down-grade to part of the omega.
Mods and Admins
I have chosen these people to help me to keep everyone else under control, so that means you must listen to them and respect their warnings, don't talk back. They're not doing it to be annoying or for fun, they have read over the rules and are helping me enforce them.
If I hear or read any particular disrespect from other players towards the mods, or me, then you will be suspended. Anything further and I will ban you.
Remember that not following these rules will result in appropriate punishment. Any questions or problems? Contact a staff member or post on the help board. If you can't follow the rules, don't join.
Many thanks to Crescent for some of these rules/ updates to them.
