Acteon tilted his head curiously at her reaction to his question. He hadn't really expected her to answer, but she acted more as if the memory haunted her; she did not expect him to believe. He supposed that was why she was running, it was not her fault then. He started as Lauenana turn and disappeared at a run into the grass. She had finished her rabbit, and the one he had offered her, he didn't really have any other reason to go after her.
Acteon hesitated at the thought. He considered maybe she wanted him to run after her, he figured she did need the company and support right now. He could've used with some in his time of need. Acteon quickly forced the thought back down, refusing to think about it. He jumped into the grass after, forcing himself out of his sitting position and easing into a run in a single, fluid movement. He couldn't see the fae in front of him, but he followed the sounds she made just as easily as if he could.
He nearly ran straight past her, and he skidded to a stop some feet away from her, quickly trotting to meet her where she had waited. Panting, her gave her a half smile, unable to bring himself to sit down as the excitement of running still rushed through him. 'I understand' he said comfortingly, 'You don't have to tell me if you don't wish to'.

Laurenana watched Acteon run straight past her, she smiled a little. Running was great fun, she enjoyed letting the stress out. More relaxed than before she sighed and dropped her head, staring at the ground.
"Sorry for snapping at you." She whispered. "Running is fun isn't it?" She lifted her head and looked Acteon in the eyes. She grinned, her eyes sparkling in the sunlight. She stood back up and lifted her head to the sky. As quiet as she was, Laurenana couldn't resist the urge. Her howl echoed across the feild, the grass quivering slightly in the breeze.
Lowering her head she smiled, her front paws dancing lightly in front of her. She felt included. She felt belonged. SHe felt like she had finally found a place to call home.

Acteon smiled in acknowledgement, nodding briefly at her apology, and in answer to her question. He hadn't taken it personally, but the fact that she had apologised said a lot about her personality - and he appreciated the slight show of care. He had been alone for such a long time he had forgotten the simple pleasures of conversation, company and a good run for no reason. It was really calming on his soul.
Acteon watched her eyes glittering with her grin. He hadn't know her very long, but he could tell it was sincere and a seldom sight. His dark chocolate auds perked at Laurenana howl, drawing his attention automatically. It was a melodic sound, and it also proved to lift his spirits. He was glad to have helped, and glad to give a kindred spirit some comfort; he knew that the best kind of help came from another who had been through an ordeal. There was nothing more comforting or genuine.
'You didn't give me a chance before' he asked, after letting the wind carry away her howl 'But, if it's not too personal for your liking, could I Laure?' He hesitated before continuing 'Your name is lovely, but I would have an easier time remembering something shorter'. Acteon hoped he wouldn't offend her by asking, but he waited with a smile, hiding his nerves.

Laurenana turned her head sideways at looked at him. Her golden eyes watched his body. This question made him nervous. She grinned.
"I don't mind Acteon. You can call me Laure, Laura whatever." She giggled. "Its fun around here."
She jumped lightly from one fore paw to another. I must break that habit she though to herself. It annoyed her.
"What pack are you from?" She asked gently. "Or are you a loner like myself?"
Her tail flicked side to side as she waited. She hoped he wasn't from a pack, but she didn't mind really. It would be nice to meet a pack...if they were anything like Acteon.

Acteon was relieved that she hadn't been offending by his asking to shorten her name. Not only that, sometimes it was too personal to ask such a thing, or the other took it that way. He was happy that she hadn't minded at all; Laure it was.
He watched as she curiously seemed to dance around on her paws. He had seen Laurenana doing it often. Acteon was curious as to why, she never seemed to want to stand still. He supposed it was a good thing to not want to waste time standing around doing nothing. Perhaps she was just eager for another run. 'No' He answered her question without pause 'I am a loner.' It was nothing to be ashamed of, he preferred to be alone.
At least, if he was alone, he could be left to his own ways. He didn't want to force his dramas on others; he didn't even want to face them himself, but it was sure to be questioned if he hardly slept. Not just that, when he did have dreams that woke him in the night when he slept, he could disappear for days. Acteon would prefer that no one had the mind to question in the first place. 'I prefer the freedom of being a loner' He shrugged the question off, briefly wondering if there were many others who chose that life. 'Would you like to go for a run?' Acteon asked with a warm smile.

Laurenana grinned when Acteon announced he was a loner. They always were safer that way. No brute challenged another wolf without backup, she had seen that happen a lot. She liked his opinion on life, freedom over pack life. Maybe she could implement it, when loners seemed nice enough.
"A run?" Laurenana grinned. "Depends..." She glanced sideways, tail wagging slightly. "Do we need to go anywhere specific?"

Acteon mulled over her answer for a moment. He didn't feel that there was any real need to go anywhere specific; he hadn't given the idea much thought. He really just thought a run for the simple pleasures of running would be nice. He smiled. Perhaps she shared the same opinion - he could confidently say she probably did.
'Nope' He answered, turning as he spoke. They had been running in that direction to begin with, he figured it would be a good way to go. 'Not unless you need to go anywhere? You can lead the way' He said, looking back grinning, adding in a playful manner: 'If you can catch up with me'. With that he took off at a run. He didn't run too fast as he didn't want to loose her in the grass - or for her to loose him.

Laurenana flicked her tail with excitement as Acteon began to run away. He clearly wasn't running full pelt, unless he was really bad at running. She waited for a minute, just long enough for him to get a fair distance in front.
"You'd better hurry up!" She called, "Or I might loose you in the grass." She laughed before beginning to run, slowly building up speed. A short howl escaped her mouth as she chased him, drawing near before pushing herself into full pace, zooming past him.
"Are you always this slow?" She laughed, continuing her run deep into the long grass, tail held high and wagging, her tongue lolling out of her mouth. This was paradise. Laurenana was happy to call this new land home...

Acteon was surprised when she passed him. He felt maybe he shouldn't be surprised by her speed; she had after all been running, as far as he could tell, for some time. But she definitely had some talent. He just smiled at her comment on his speed, far be it for him to take offence to playful banter. He found it rather heart warming actually.
'Loose me? Slow?' He called, picking his pace up to keep on her tail, if not just out of reach 'I think you just might loose me if you keep it up!' He had to admit that, in his rather down mood as of late, he had been rather out of practice - keeping to smaller, easier prey did take its tolls. Then again, it did feel good to stretch and exercise some of his more forgotten muscles. And feeling the blood pumping through him made him feel as if he had been dead for some time.
Acteon was glad to have met Laure, even if she was hard to keep up with.

OOC: Sorry for not posting yeterday, but I had an extreme lack of muse. IC: Laurenana's ears perked at Acteon's response. She stood mid step, her foot hanging in the air. Her eyes glanced to the left and then to the right. Her nose took in the smells of the grassland air. Her ears twitched nervously. "Do you hear that?" She whispered, assuming Acteon was beside her. If he didn't hear tough, he should be quicker. Her tail lowered and she pinned her ears back and growled defensively into the undergrowth. Her front paws clawed at the earth, kicking up dirt. She wasn't going ot look pitiful when she had been having so much fun.

Acteon managed to pull up without bumping into Laurenana. Panting he perked his auds, listening for what she had heard. He didn't hear anything out of the ordinary: rabbits in the distance, sometimes the grass rustled, and he could almost hear the disturbance of larger game - he wrote it off as wishful thinking. Either way, none of that was threatening or strange. Unless Laure was still hungry, which could be likely.
Thoughtfully, Acteon cocked his head slightly to the side. No odd scent reached his nose either. 'Hear what?' He asked, his ears still perked, ready to pick up on something. He could hear a lot of things, maybe she was just hungry and she could hear the food better because of it. He stalked quietly to stand beside her, his shoulder standing just above hers. She was a fairly big wolf, compared to most of the sorts around here, but a beautiful one none the less.
Acteon knew his slightly larger size would not gain any advantage in a fight with her, she was more then capable. Even her fur seemed to be fighting to outmatch his, trying to be darker. It was certainly shinier. 'Is it trouble?' He asked, trying to specify what it was she had heard.

OOC: Stops being lazy and actually clicks reply ...Laurenana is a beautiful wolf hey ;D IC: As Acteon pulled up next to her a slight grin passed over her face, but she suppressed it, trying so hard not to crack up laughing. Laurenana placed her paw on the ground and raised her tail. Spinning around she grinned wildly and reached out to touch him. Tag! Your it! She exclaimed and ran off, free as the wind. There hadn't been anything at all that she had heard, she loved being the joker. Glancing back, she noticed how far away Aceton was from her. I better play easy on him to start with She thought and raised her tail and pranced a little, mucking on, pretending she was a dominate alpha. Her tongue hung lazily from her open mouth and the cool wind ruffled her dark black fur. A little fun never hurt anyone, unless it was a play fight when someone didn't know the meaning of play, besides Acteon was gentle and kind. He was an awesome wolf, in Laurenana's opinion. She had swore off mates, but maybe...just maybe...she would break her promise to herself. Come on Laurenana, don't be frigid. Acteon is strong and kind. Can't I make an exception to the rule? She questioned herself and she prepared for Acteon to come barrelling towards her.

Acteon grinned after her as she ran off. It was all he could do to stop laughing. Laurenana hadn't heard anything after all, which was releiving in itself - he thought maybe he had been loosing his touch. Not only was he releived, he was excited - he hadn't played tag for a long time.
Acteon tried not to think of the time as he watched her prance in a dominant fashion playfully. It made him smile, even with his dark memories threatening to burst forth. Just because I'm playing tag didn't have anything to do with the past, he told himself repeatedly, driving the threat down with the repetitive thought. Instead of thinking any longer, and forced himself into a run. A grin broke through his silent brooding and he found himself once again happy.
Acteon silently wondered if Laure was going to take it easy on him, or if he was going to have to exert himself. He smiled at the thought, maybe she would have it both ways.
[ooc][Weeelll honestly I don't play romance-y stuff good, I always end up blushing and giggling, so I try and avoid it - but it's not fair on the character, so I thought I'd give it a shot xD]

Laurenana glanced behind her as she pranced around, grinning wildly. "Come on!" she called back to Acteon. He was such a handsome wolf, his strong, tall body was impressive.
"Stop drooling" She thought to herself. "He's probably not interested." Her tail flicked over her back thoughtfully, unconsciously trying to make herself as pretty as possible.
She turned around from prancing and watched the male. He would make a fine mate, Laurenana knew, but without a pack she doubted she would be safe enough to have pups let alone raise them, still, it would be nice.

Acteon smiled as barrelled after her in a pup like fashion. It wasn't the same feeling as hunting, even though he was chasing something, chasing it to catch it. But, he wasn't chasing to kill, and that took away the pressures of having to catch to kill, he didn't have to catch her, but he wanted to.
Acteon lifted his tail up away from the ground, as if following Laure's suit, letting it appear more like a flag. He didn't often lift it, but then, he didn't often feel this exhilarated. He knew she wasn't running, more prancing then anything, but he still put effort into catching up with her. He wanted to show her he could run too, even if she had been playful when she had said him to be slow.
With some effort, he thought it amazing he could still run to such extent, he caught her. Skidding to a hasty stop, the dirt carrying him onward, he reached out a paw and tapped her, just barely. Acteon knew she would have felt it, so wasted no time scrambling back to his paws and sharply turning off in the direction he had come.
