Acteon was happy when she followed him. He didn't want to seem to pleased, but he knew she was happy for his help. It made him happy to help. He smiled merrily at the thought. He loved the happy thoughts, and always kept them with him as long as he could; the more happy memories he had to think about, the less he thought of less pleasant things.
Acteon led her out of the grassy terrain, leaving behind the rabbits, most of which were retiring to bed, and entering the more confined comfort of the forest. He did enjoy the open plains, but in his heart he much preferred the forest. There was much more to see, and many more places to hide. He knew where he was, as he always did from roaming around the area so often. It was the easiest to find meal, and with his lack of sleep most of the time, it was sometimes all he could catch.
'I think you'll find it a good place to stay' he said. Acteon knew it was comfortable, even if he hardly slept while there.

Laurenana's hopes were up. Not only had she made a friend but someone to look after her for a while, till she got her strength back up. She sighed. She would have to leave him one day. Laurenana never was a wolf of settling down, even if her ideas were changing.
Laurenana loved the forest. She had run through it to get here, but its shadows had saved her life and the twisting path had made her agile. It had really given her the talents she had today. In her mind, Laurenana thanked the forest for all it had done for her.
She slowed a little to observe everything, the birds hopping from branch to branch, the wind blowing along the path, ruffling fur and rustling the branches of the trees. Verything was so peaceful. Laurenana drew in a breathe of the cool wind and a scent...that she didn't want to smell.
Her hackles rose and she growled and all the memories came back. The scent was hers, if was sort of old, but she could smell the fear and the tiredness in it. She remembered running through her.
*flashback*
Laurenana was running, fast, weaving in and out of the trees and their roots. The scents of the pack were fading, but her ears could still hear them. A whimper escaped her maw as she leapt up and just clipped a tree root.
Her nose could only smell the fear on herself. Her ears could only hear the sounds of Christoph and his gang as they chased her. Her eyes could see a plain, grassy and golden. She knew she couldn't make it if she kept on running. So Laurenana stopped, ducking into the shadows where she couldn't be smelt.
She hid their for days, till the growling stopped. Then, starved and weak, she stumbled out onto the plains.
*end flashback*

Acteon sighed contently in his comfort to be back in the covers of the forest. The smells calmed him and the familiarity of it put him at ease. There were plenty of places to hide, plenty of places where danger may have advantage, but it went both ways.
He noticed Laurenana had slowed, and so followed her change of pace, so she would be able to enjoy the forest and not fall behind. His ears immediately flicked back attentively when he heard her growl. Acteon searched for the answer briefly as he turned to see what had bothered her. Laure looked to be disturbed by something, but he had a feeling it wasn't anything in this world, which worried him more.
He hesitated, not wishing to cause her any more panic. He looked carefully around to be sure there was no danger. Finding none, Acteon's fur bristled instinctively, though it did him no good. He wasn't sure if she would lash out at him, or what he should do. He thought it best to wait it out; it would be best for her to come back on her own terms and he didn't want to impose.

Her mind unclouded and Laurenana shook her head 'Sorry Acteon, just...bad memories of this place." She shook her head harder and the memories vanished, locked away but clawing their way out slowly.
She smiled nervously and jogged a little ahead. "So are we going to get there soon?" She laughed a little. It wasn't true, just an act. She wanted Acteon to be at ease. She wanted to get to the den, quickly. It would banish her fears and give her some rest that she desparatly needed.
Closing her yellow eyes she breathed in deeply, smelling the forest not her fear. She calmed almost instantly. She was in her element, the shadows. It was great to be here, provided bad memories don't invade.
Flicking her tail she waited for Acteon to catch up and lead the way.
OOC: argh! I have no muse...sorry I haven't posted sooner...i only just had a small amout of muse....

Acteon relaxed slightly, though not completely, at Laurenana's words. He didn't know she knew this place, and it troubled him that she had bad memories of it. Or maybe of a place that was similar to this one. Either way it was unsettling. He nodded his acknowledgement after a pause, relaxing completely. It would do him no good to be on edge for no good reason.
Acteon trotted up to her, not in a hurry but not wishing to dawdle. He though a good rest would do Laure a lot of good, and he didn't wish to keep such a simple pleasure from her. He hoped she would be able to sleep soundly. It was always the problem with the den, in his opinion, but it would be a help to the black fae.
'Memories choose interesting times to sneak up on us' he commented, as he continued to lead the way, following the well worn path, and watching for the vague gap that lead off the path and to his home - or at least, a home.

Laurenana shook herself and quickly trotted after Acteon. She stealthily crept up behind him and barked loudly. With a laugh she ran past him and stopped a couple of meters in front, her tail held high. Looking back she winked before flicking her tail and looking back at the trees in front of her as she waited for him to catch up.
A bird fluttered between trees, chirping merrily. Laurenana's golden eyes flicked across to another bush where the wind blew through lazily. A small rustle caught Laurenana's attention as a young rabbit hopped out onto the path. It snuffled a bit and then looked at her, squealed and bounded away. The young wolf didn't care. She wasn't hungry.

Acteon smiled distantly at Laurenana's playfulness. He was caught in distant thoughts, but nothing he could put to words. His smiled faded slightly, beginning to think of Laure's episode. He wondered at it, but he knew it was best not to bring it up. He smiled again at how happy she was; so much different then when he had first come across her, and what a chance it had been - she was not bad at hiding.
The chill of night was already catching in the afternoon air. Acteon paused for a moment in thought, missing a step in the process. Winter was here and the night would be cold. It was just as well he had found the black fae, he thought, to give her help and shelter for such a promisingly cold evening. He didn't even notice the rabbit until squealed, bringing his thoughts to an abrupt halt.
'It's this way' Acteon said, catching up with her finally 'Just through the bushes and you will be able to see it.' He lead the way, going the way the rabbit had look to come, through the brush. It didn't bother him to have the foliage scruffing his fur, but he thought that unfair for a lady. He pushed his way through, using his body to hold most of the brush away for laure to pass through. Most was all he could manage.

OOC: Sorry for noit posting my muse has vanished for some time D: anyway....
BIC:
Laurenana stepped carefully behind Acteon as he lead the way through the bushes. She laughed to herself as Acteon polietly held the branches away for her.
"Acteon, Thanks but it really isn't necessary. I don't care much for my fur" She whispered with a chuckle.
The fresh winter air was soothing but it made her nose tingle and go numb. She licked her nose to warm it as she padded quietly behind Acteon. He was a handsome brute it seemed a shame that she couldn't make a move, she felt too shy.
