Azalea wandered across the land, her nose held slightly above the ground, taking in the scent of the lands. She could smell other wolves, but the lingering scent was old. The pack that once had been here had moved on long ago, back a year when she was still a pup.
She herself had grown a lot since then, although her shyness did prevail in many areas, the fighter inside her had made her strong, and her naivety had made her wise. She still remembered her siblings often, Cleo took after their mother in many ways, and still wandered around a loner for the time being. Azalea would seek her to join this land in ruling, although she knew Cleo better; she would most likely refuse.
Azalea sat back on her hunches, her keen ears in tune to the surrounding silence. There was no other wolf for a good long ways. This was definitely her chance to claim the land. She felt a proudness well in her chest, excitement barely allowing her to sit still and she let out a good long howl, her welcoming song filing the woods surrounding the meadows where she sat.

Envy, stood standing a ways from the wolfess as she sung out in announcement of her new leadership over the land. He thought silently as he watched her excitement, his crystal eyes focused without waver on her light silver and white hued figure.
Only two thoughts passed through his mind; His pack had just recently withered, and he disliked having his position revoked, to be but a loner again - and if he were to join a pack again, he would be not but another part of the omega. Envy's second thought was not to be put in words, let alone to be acted apon.
Silently moved a few paces forward, shyly it would seem, keeping his midnight stained head fairly low, non-threatening as he approached the fae. He masked the malice from his eyes, replacing his face with a neutral look, one of clam and unfeeling. It was no challenge to him to lock away his true intentions, in his years of practice he had perfected it as much as could be done; few saw past his mask.
Envy did not sneak toward the alphess, but he did not announce his approach, he went about it noisily enough, instead waiting on her reaction to be the first.

Denser stood there without knowing where he was. He didn't know this land, he never has been here before. But this was not unusual. He was a Loner, a Stranger all over the world. And now, he was a Stranger is his heart, too.
Thorn has died a few days before and since he has been running further south. But he had never stopped to look around, to see where he was up to go. And now he was standing here. At a place, he didn't know. He even didn't know whether there were other wolves, till he heard the long and melodic cry of an wolfess that sounded all over the land. It sounded like she wanted to welcome here home like she wanted to say: 'I'm right back!' And although he didn't feel something like that, he was fascinated by this cry and for a moment, he forgot what has happened. But not for long.
He looked around and got wind of the fae but also of a wolf, that was near. He was not sure what to do. He didn't want to see somebody. He feared to be reminded of his brother. But he also didn't want to be alone anymore. There was a hole inside him, that seemed bigger than the moon. And there was nothing to fill it, as he knew. But he felt as if it would grow from day to day and he was afraid to fall into it.
So he stood there, waiting to be discovered or get the courage to journey on.

Azalea's auds perked up suddenly; she could here another approaching her. A slight fear seemed to pass over her, she had welcomed others to the land but she had not expected to see anyone for a while. She twisted her silver head around, her green eyes focusing on the approaching wolf. She didn't recognise his face, but she realised his smell was on the land.
She turned quickly to face him, her auds folding back in slight warning, even though he was not threatening her. She didn't take trust lightly, it was something she felt should be earned. Azalea smiled warmly, she was relived that he didn't wish to fight her at least. 'Hello' she said happily, her ears perking up automatically with her mood 'Would you like to share the land with me?' She knew that's why he was hear; to join the pack, but she asked anyway.
She picked her silver muzzle up a second as another scent caught her, another male, and suddenly she felt a little overwhelmed. She lifted her ears towards the smell, she had to gather more members for her pack or else she could easily be driven from the land. 'Hello' she called out, a little less confidently, she felt that she may be just wary: and it wouldn't be a good impression on someone new to be talking to yourself.

Envy smiled at the silver alphess as she turned to face him. More thoughts ran through his head - she was alone, it had been a long time since he had seen another in the lands; or perhaps he had been in the wrong parts. He supressed them duly, it would be of no use to ruin his chances now, there was only one other pack in the land.
He could tell she recognised his scent, although old it was, it was not surprising, he had lived on this very land with the previous pack. He gave a half smile, she kind of reminded him of the alphess. Envy's smile widened when she greeted him happily and he lifted his head up to his fully height - not to intimidate her, he kept his eyes kind.
Envy went to answer her when he saw her lift her white muzzle to the air slightly. He turned his head slightly to the direction she was looking and soon found the scent himself, a dark look shadowing his eyes for a moment. Envy sat down carefully, not wishing to draw the alphess' attention away, it looked as if she almost doubted she could smell another.

Denser didn't have to wait for long. Perhaps he hasn't been waiting anyway. He didn't know. And he didn't want to think about. There were still doubts about what he was doing. Did he really want to see other wolves? He was a dastard, a traitor. Who'd like to have him within his pack? Who'd trust him? Who'd trust somebody who was unable to trust himself?
He heard the voice of the fae once again. It sounded differently than before, but kind and friendly. Maybe the only reason for him to stay. Maybe the most important reason for him to go. He didn't want to hurt somebody again. Neither somebody he loved nor somebody he didn't even know. But in the end, the black wolf stood there like a tree and felt more and more stupid about that.
So he made a few steps forward. Nothing appreciable. He still couldn't see them yet. But it was a step, a direction. He thought of answering and knew at the same time, that he had no idea what to say.
'All hail!', he answered and felt that strange. He has grown into an old, proud pack that used the 'old school' and set value on politeness but he knew that this could also affect antiquated. But it was to late, he had answered and there was nothing that could change his few words.

[ooc] I didn't even know what appreciable meant until I looked it up in our dictionary!! xD nifty. (make me feel dumb why don't ya! ) Azalea stood for a moment, feeling somewhat foolish for cutting off the black wolf before her; one whom she was just introducing into her pack. She was meant to be welcoming him not standing there talking to a scent. She was loosing her touch.
She turned her attention back to the other, noticing he had been watching her. Meekly she slowly sat herself on the ground; she didn't really know what else she could do. She searched her mind frantically for something to say, maybe he had smelled something too, maybe he wouldn't think she was overcautious? Before she could even begin to explain herself she heard another's voice, startled she turned back to stare at where the voice had come from.
Silently Azalea thanked the voice; it made her feel better about herself to know she wasn't suspicious. She tilted her head slightly; a habit from childhood that had not broken. She didn't really understand what the other had meant, but it sounded noble. Somehow she didn't think saying hi fit, although it was all she could think to say. She paused in confusion for a long moment. '... Hi' She had been right; it sounded very out of place.

Denser hesitated again. There was no backwards anymore. He had to show himself, even if he'd decide to travel further. But he couldn't just go away anymore. Maybe he didn't want to. Maybe this was a good decision, the right decision. But he had doubts. He was not sure what he wanted or not.
Insecure he went further. A few steps more. Far away he could see the silhouettes of two wolves. One was dark as he was, he guessed. Black but maybe not as black as the night. He didn't know, he couldn't see him good enough. The fae was gray. A light gray shining silvery in the dim distance.
He stopped, waiting. He was not sure about what he was waiting for. Maybe for a few words from the fae. He heard her greet, didn't really know what to answer. It sounded a little bit awkward. But on the other hand he felt hardly less awkward himself. This had to be the alphess he guessed. He leant his head and kept silent. Not knowing what he was waiting for.

ooc: Half, for some reason that last post turns up as bright green on e..
Envy, waited patiently as she fumbled for words, sitting as she did so as not to impose on her. He didn't have to wait long, but it was not her words that interrupted the wait. Immediately he turned his black crainium towards the sound of the male. It seemed the other had decided to announce himself, at least now the alphess, who's name he had yet to hear, didn't seem so embarrassed.
Envy warily watched the empty spot where the voice had come from, his auds strained painfully forward. She answered the others call, although, he thought, she seemed a little confused. A moment later he spotted the wolf as he seemed to be forced from his hiding place, his pitch black fur standing out against the feild. Enzy found himself idly wondering how it was he had not noticed the other's presence before now. The thought angered him slightly and he forced his mind onto his sight, concerntrating on what he saw instead.

[ooc] oops I put grey instead of gray. Silly American spellings, gets me every time.
Azalea, her ears perched on end, waited vigorously for some reply. She didn't really know what to expect. She had almost forgotten completely about introducing herself to the other wolf who had come to her call. If she had stop to think about it she would have been very ashamed; but at the moment she was enthralled with the excitement of mystery.
Out of nowhere, it seemed as if a wolf materialised in front of her, a fair way away. Black, just like the other that had come to her. Azalea wasn't sure what to do from there, maybe she should just sit there and wait? She mulled over it for a time. The new wolf seemed out of place here and she didn't think it wise to bound over like a pup whose father had come home from hunting.
For a moment she deemed herself unworthy to lead a pack, she didn't even show initiative and she was far from experienced in leading a pack. Azalea shifted her gaze to the ground for a moment. Maybe she was too naive. Forcibly she looked up again to the distant figure, everyone had to learn sometime. 'I won't harm you' she called to him, although it was obvious that she would be of no harm to him even if she was to try.

Denser stopped a couple of feet away from the other two wolves. A male and the fae that had talked to him a few heartbeats ago. He was nit sure at all, but he had decided to stay. To try. What he was up to try? He didn't have the faintest idea.
But the fae seemed helpless, as well. She explained to him, she wouldn't harm him. Denser was not the vainest, though he was proud his own way. But this had to be a joke. Though she didn't look like she was up to attack him, she'd have not the best chances to win. But there was also the other wolf, the black one. Maybe he was here mate or something like that. But that didn't matter, anyway. He was not up to fight, even if they'd attacked him. He clung only tenuously to life, to the life he had to live in sense of guilt for what he had done. There was nothing to defend, if they'd really attacked him.
He nodded through the two wolves, not sure what to say. Well, the fea tried to be friendly. He didn't want to like some self-centred wolf. It was uncourtly and unfair. The fae seemed to try hard to welcome him. He didn't want to smile. He was nobody who ran through the world, smiling. And he was definitly not in the mood to smile.
'I'm sorry', he started, 'it was not my intention, to interrupt you.'
He was not sure, if he really interrupted them in anything. But maybe he did. And politeness was the best way of keeping distance.

[ooc][Ahh!! I haven't had a breather! I will have to reply later, I will try at work tomorrow xD soz]
Azalea smiled happily when she realised he had come closer, although the black wolf didn’t look too enthusiastic about the whole thing. She tried not to let it change her mood, she did need members and it wasn’t in her to judge on appearance. First impressions are not always correct, more often then not they were actually very off.
Still fairly ignorant to proper social behaviour she could feel her tail swishing behind her, although she did nothing to prevent it; she was happy and somewhat nervous, it only made sense to wag her tail. Azalea’s ears flicked at his words, wondering why he was so polite, she had never met another so, others here were rougher – even though she had not met all she knew her father to be one, or so she was told. Feeling slightly self conscious she realised now would be as good a time as any to introduce herself.
‘You didn’t interrupt anyone’ She said, brushing off the apology ‘I’m Azalea, I am Alphess here.’ The words were new to her, she even wondered if they were appropriate – should she call herself Alphess so soon?

Denser didn't wonder about her words. OF course, she was Alphess. That's what he thought all the time. But that was not the reason for his politeness. He has been educated to be polite. It had nothing to do with snootiness or disdain. He was not better than they were, quite the contrary. He had betrayed his brother, the only one that was up to stay with him.
But what should he answer? His name, of course. Maybe more than that. But what? Should he really answer, what he had done? But if he'd not do so, wouldn't it be a lie? He was a murderer, a traitor.
Denser was unsure, at all. He hesitated and his look went more and more icy without purpose. The blue became really cold, it seemed and his bearing got repellent. He didn't notice something of that, he was just thinking.
'My name is Denser', he started. 'Denser Iscariot'
Iscariot, that meant 'traitor' in the old language of the wise. He didn't remember much of their stories, they had in his old pack. A few, most to frighten puppies. But there was one. He didn't remember the content anymore. But there was a wolf called Iscariot, the traitor. And so it was no lie in his words. But he knew that he was not able to tell what he had done, yet.
'My legs brought me to this country', he went on. 'And maybe, if you might allow me to stay, I'll adjourn my journey for a while.'
He tried to sound not unkindly, but there was a fight in his mind which he couldn't hide completely from the world.

Azalea, holding back her curiosity of where exactly Denser had come from, as he made it seem far, smiled happily at the news. She always thought the meeting part to be one of the hardest things to overcome, but not the only hard part. 'Of course you may stay!' She ignored the distance in his voice, she didn't feel any great foreboding; although it sometimes proved foolish Azalea liked to give everyone a chance.
With a start she realised she had forgotten of the other; it would have made more sense to see to him first rather than Denser, but it was easy to spike her curiosity. Apologetically she returned her attention to the wolf in front of her, finding herself in a rather pickled predicament: Azalea liked to help everyone, she always found it hard to not feel as though she was ignoring someone.
'And what's your name stranger?' She addressed the black wolf in front of her, hopeing he hadn't become annoyed with her overt interest in Denser.

Envy watched contently as the alphess, Azalea he had learned, introduced herself and welcomed Denser into the pack. Azalea seemed a curious soul, and friendly- she hadn't lived in the world very long. But, despite being overly ignored - he could probably walk off and none would be the wiser - Envy was in a fairly patient mood. He needed to be in a pack, his insatiable lust for pain was beginning to become hard to ignore.
Impatience seethed inside him, but he knew better then to let himself over to it. Envy let his cold orbs observe Denser, weighing his soul in a sense; he was not a small wolf, though Envy didn't consider himself small either, but he seemed to have resigned himself to submission. He turned to Azalea as she addressed him. 'My name is Altar, ma'am' of course, he lied, it was rare for him to use his true name - Envy was far from fitting to whom he wished others to see him.
Fortunately, the confusion it caused seemed to fit him nicely; it was not hard to miss him in a crowd, so if ever anyone who recognized him came along the name he gave was not the same as his. Many a time he had been banished from a land before he had a chance to sink his teeth into it. A lesson he chose not to ignore. 'I wish to also join your lead' he smiled slightly
